The LX3 is listed as supported by OS X Yosemite V10.10 OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support. Maybe the issue is that I could select Adobe Photoshop Elements as the photo editor in iPhoto preferences.
If you still haven't been able to successfully update the Camera Raw plug-in for currently supported versions of Adobe applications, use the Camera Raw 13.1 installer below.
Adobe Camera Raw 10.3
I am using LR 2015.9 (shows camera raw 9.9) and PS CC 2018 (which indicates CR 10.3 installed). Whenever I try and export an image from LR to PS I get a pop up saying that my Camera Raw version is 0.3 and the files won't be compatible. Do I want to export anyways or use LR for export. - Quit all Adobe applications.
- Double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it. Windows might unzip the file for you.
- Double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Restart your Adobe applications.

Adobe Camera Raw for Photoshop (CC, CS6 and CC 2014) is an alternative way to install support for digital camera RAW formats. At times, installing the official Adobe installer isn't successful. This method, also an official Adobe product, seems to help.
The download includes a ZIP file and within there, an installer for Windows. Once the installer has completed, all of the newest camera models and lens models should be supported from directly within Photoshop.
Adobe Camera Raw for Photoshop also allows you to open RAW files from within Lightroom, exporting them to Adobe Photoshop for external editing.
